According to road traffic rule number 178 for 2017, truck drivers will also be fined AED 1,000 and given four black points should they violate traffic rules during foggy weather. Brigadier Khalifa Mohammad Al Khaili, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department of Abu Dhabi Police, said: “both bus and truck drivers will be fined, if they are found violating the road traffic rules during the foggy weather conditions.”

Motorists are urged to exercise extra caution while driving in fog and maintain greater distances with the vehicle in front of them. The use of fog lamps is highly recommended while hazard lights should not be used while driving.
