First Look: 2013 Range Rover

Posted by Hassan Siddiqi on Sep 13, 2012

Latest report from Motor Trend bills the new Range Rover as being more focused on luxury and comfort, instead of off-road machismo.

Quick Facts:

1. New model reduces weight by over 900 pounds, using high strength aluminum instead of steel

2. Rear legroom is increased by 4.7 inches and the interior will be quieter as the interior glass is acoustically laminated

3. The new model has half as many buttons in the control panels, which is en vogue these days, thanks again Steve Jobs!

4. A surround camera system with multiple views including T-junction view, reverse park guidance and trailer hitch guidance

All is not lost for the off-road enthusiasts as some new inductions are indeed in order:

5. Ground clearance is 0.67 inches higher than previous model

6. The new terrain response system allows for a two speed transfer, adjusting torque for off-roading or towing.
