Ford reveals Self Parking Technology

Posted by on Oct 10, 2013

Lately, many brands have showcased their way of helping people to park their vehicles. Google is actually testing self-driving cars to ease commuting radically. Now it's Ford’s turn to join the race with their new technology termed Fully Assisted Parking Aid, which will enable the car to park itself without the driver inside.

In simple terms, the driver will be able to use his or her smartphone to instruct the car to park. Thus, the fear of damaging the car while squeezing into tight spaces will be a thing of the past.

The other technology which Ford introduced is called Obstacle Avoidance Technology. As the name suggests, it searches for obstacles in front of the vehicle – up to 650 feet – and if any object is found, the driver is alerted with a sound. If the car fails to stop then brakes are automatically applied and car will steer around that object thus avoiding collision.
