Ford Taurus: the Blue Oval’s star of the show in the UAE

Ford’s flagship saloon has the American carmaker’s tried and tested 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine mated to an eight-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The engine produces 232 hp 388 Nm of torque, which is plenty for a luxury saloon if you ask us.

The Taurus has three driving modes - Normal, Sport and Eco - and no matter which mode you choose, it offers exceptional fuel economy. With fuel prices increasing day by day, fuel economy is the need of the hour and the Taurus has an ace up its sleeve with its fuel economy. Ford claims that the Taurus delivers up to 15.3 km/l. Impressive.

A luxury saloon’s main task is to nail the experience its driver gets on the inside and the Taurus does that. Inside the Taurus you will find a 13.2-inch multi-function touchscreen display and Ford’s SYNC4 infotainment system. The infotainment system offers access to driver aids such as  BLIS (blind spot intervention system) with collision mitigation and lane departure warning.

Talking about driver aids and safety, the Taurus has a 52-degree forward looking camera for its collision mitigation system and adaptive speed control. And, to top things off, the saloon also has an advanced driver impairment monitor, and fixed rear-view camera.

“The proud legacy of Taurus demands a refined powertrain that delivers on Ford’s long-standing promise of impressive on-road performance,” said Andrew Gregory, Brand Marketing Manager at Ford Middle East. “The proven 2.0-litre in-line four-cylinder EcoBoost engine does just that, as it produces laudable levels of horsepower and torque, exuding the substance to match its style,” he commented.

With its ever increasing sales figures and segment-leading features, it looks like the Taurus will be the mid-size saloon to beat in the UAE for Ford’s rivals. And, right now, it is the best mid-size saloon in the market.
