Glimpse into the Infiniti QX80

An inexorable endeavour manufacturers are into today, is transcending their cars from being mere machines to becoming our best companions and take the onus of certain obligations which would’ve otherwise been performed manually using human labour. Nissan’s philosophy, Nissan Intelligent Mobility and sustainability being at the focal point of its operations have veered the way for them to build cars that are tech-laden. Even those meant for the most parsimonious people now come with features which not only make driving easier, but keep its occupants from getting fazed in the highly fastidious professional life which they live.

The same objectives are being reiterated by its luxury arm, Infiniti which goes a step further to pamper its owners by providing luxury to the pinnacle. Serving testament to this, is the brand’s flagship SUV, the QX80 which comes with a bevy of creature comforts making it an alluring contender in the full-sized luxury SUV space being pitted against the likes of the Lexus LX, Lincoln Navigator and the Cadillac Escalade to quote a few.

For starters, it gets adaptive driver-oriented features which work proactively to minimise potential hazards or in case of collisions, the impact of one. The driver will have to be less wary or fear if the car starts extruding uncanny behaviour at any point of time thanks to sensors which monitor the road and objects in the vicinity of the car such as forward collision warning, auto-emergency braking, lane change alert, rear-cross traffic alert and lane keep assist.

While these features can only come in handy when the car is in motion, other convenience features ensure they aren’t parochial by offering seamless and endless connectivity even when the car is on standstill. These include Apple CarPlay for iOS users and Android Auto for Android users. These applications allow your mobile phone or other device to pair with the car’s infotainment system. In fact, the device screen is literally reflected on the infotainment system which provides easy access to all phone functions and receiving or sending text messages and phone calls without having to moving your eyes off the road. It now gets dual-touchscreens along with its original INFINITI InTouch™ which provides GPS and smartphone connectivity. Android users can also use Google Maps™ right on their screen telling directions for the destination through its audio feature. It also features voice command which lets you tune into your favourite FM station or play that melodious song which makes your day brighter. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It also allows one to reply to important messages on the go so unforeseen exigencies can be dealt with easily.

However, its real party trick is the Infiniti Intelligent Key through which you can effortlessly lock/unlock the doors and trunk and even switch the air conditioning on without being in the car. This definitely comes across as a nifty and life-saving tool in the sweltering hot summers of the UAE. To provide you the ultimate boss treatment, it sets the seat, steering wheel and mirror positions to your posture and stature. For the rear occupants, it is no less than a lounge experience with independent 8-inch entertainment screens, wireless headphones, HDMI and USB ports, and Bose® 13-speaker acoustics system for the ears to soak in the best quality sound.

Infiniti has upped the ante in quality and features department. It comes with the same set of gasoline V6 and V8 engine options as before which are powerful and extremely reliable. Such enhancements is going to let its company register good sales volumes with alacrity.
