GMC unveils bold and brash Canyon in the Middle East

For the very first time, GMC will be bringing its monstrous Canyon midsize truck to the Middle East. The pickup truck will be available in the region with the AT4X trim which comes from GMC’s sub-brand AT4X.

The GMC Canyon sits on massive 33-inch MT tires and has proper off road stuff like Multimatic DSSV shocks, front and rear e-lockers, underbody skid plates and a special Baja Mode which comes with the AT4X trim.

Under the bonnet, the Canyon packs a 2.7L turbo engine which GMC claims is best in class for off-roading. The Canyon also comes with four modes: Normal, Terrain, Off-road, Tow/Haul and, of course, Baja.

Despite being a rugged pickup truck, the GMC comes with creature comforts like a customizable 11.3-inch diagonal touchscreen infotainment system and a 11-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The Canyon also comes with front and rear-facing underbody cameras with wash function, front 30-inch off-road grille light bar, off-road front bumper with safari bar and a reconfigurable bed rail system.

Sean Poppitt, Director of Communications, General Motors Africa and Middle East said: “As we always emphasize, the Middle East market, our first export market outside of North America, is very important for us. We promised to always bring the most premium and most capable trucks to the Middle East.”

“With the aim to cater to our regional communities’ needs we’re very excited to be delivering on our promise and announce that the All-New 2023 GMC Canyon in the AT4X trim will join our premium line-up,” he concluded.

GMC is flexing the might of our off-road muscle,” commented GMC’s Global Vice President Duncan Aldred. “Canyon benefits from key learnings gained from our AT4 strategy to bring customers the most advanced off-road midsize truck.”

Details about availability and price of the Canyon in the region will be shared soon.
