GMC Yukon to receive a new trim level

Posted by Mansoor A. Bukhari on May 30, 2016

GMC has decided to add an entirely new trim level to its fleet – particularly to the Yukon and Yukon XL SUV range. This new trim level is called the Premium Edition package and it will sit between the SLT trim and the Denali. This makes sense as the price difference between the SLT and Denali is significant and this new variant will help in spreading out the price gaps efficiently.

So, what do you get in the Premium Edition exactly? Well, you are not going to have the bling factor of the Denali Edition as that’s the top-spec trim. However, you do get special 22 inch alloy wheels and a unique chrome grille for the Yukon. This is to help it stand out from the Denali and yet have presence on the road. In addition, the Premium Edition will give chrome inserts along the SUV’s body and a ‘polished’ exhaust tip.

All Yukon Premium Editions will be powered by the same 5.3 liter V8 engine and this special package is available on all Yukon SLT models – with either a 2WD or a 4WD. This means the special package can be bought as an upgrade to your existing Yukon SLT trim and the consumers can enjoy showing off their bling at a more affordable price. This is part of GMs strategy to bring the success of Denali to the lower spec trim. The pricing of this special packaging hasn’t been announced as of yet but expect to be cheaper than the Denali offering.
