GWM’s premium SUV brand TANK lands in the UAE

Swaidan Trading, a division of Al Naboodah Group and dealers for Great Wall Motors in the UAE, has launched the premium SUV brand of GWM - TANK - in the UAE. TANK was launched by Swaidan Trading at an event in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. Swaidan Al Naboodah, Managing Director of ANGE, has said that the TANK sub-brand will “undoubtedly revolutionize the automotive landscape” in the region. 

Great Wall Motors has been looking to increase its footprint in the region with dealer Swaidan Trading opening two new showrooms of the Chinese brand: on Al Wahda St., Sharjah, and on Ittihad Road, Deira. The latter will be dedicated to the TANK brand. A regional parts center of GWM has also been opened in Jebal Ali to provide customers with a seamless supply of spare parts, accessories, along with technical support for their cars.

TANK isn’t the first GWM sub brand in the region with Haval and POER already making a mark in the UAE. TANK looks to build on the success it had in Saudi Arabia into the whole country with special launch events planned in Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain in the next couple of weeks.

The TANK 300 and TANK 500 will be serving as the launchpad for the brand. The former will pack a 3.0L twin-turbo engine and looks to balance off-road capabilities with comfort and safety while the latter is more focused towards having a rugged appeal and a versatile driver experience.

The TANK 500 has a starting price of AED 175,000, while the TANK 300 is available from AED 125,000.
