Keeping in line with the Government’s initiatives to have 10% of all cars on UAE roads electric by 2030, vehicle rental company Hertz has taken a pioneering step in the country. Set to make 30% of its entire fleet Hybrid Electric Vehicles in the next 3 years, Hertz has added the first batch of Toyota Camry HEVs to its evergrowing fleet.

“Hertz is the first car rental company to provide UAE residents with the opportunity to rent a Toyota Hybrid Electric Vehicle. We noticed that the demand for green rental cars has been increasing in the past 2 years, as customers started understanding the financial and environmental benefits of Hybrid Electric cars. With considerable reduction in fuel consumption, allowing our customers to enjoy further cost efficiencies from this outstanding value proposition.” said Nigel Johnson, Managing Director of Hertz UAE.

With clear plans to add more models from brands such as Toyota, Lexus, Volvo and Jeep, in coming years, this move will help both residents and tourists not only save fuel and money but also have a more positive impact on the environment.
