Huge percent of Maserati buyers are women in the Middle East

Saudi and Kuwaiti women are among the biggest buyers of Maserati cars.

The Italian brand says that even though the Saudi women are not allowed to drive, they are about one one-quarter of Maserati buyers in the country, as told by the global overseas markets managing director Umberto Cini to Arabian Business.

“In Kuwait around 50 percent [of Maserati customers are female]. Twenty-five percent of the customers in Saudi Arabia are female customers, which is unheard of. If you didn’t know, you would never think about this.” Said Cini.

So what is it about the Maserati that makes women want it?

“It’s not only the sound, of course. It’s the positioning of the car [that makes the Maserati popular] and the possibility of [having it] tailor-made,” Cini said, “I had a customer in a [Middle East] country once that came with a Channel bag and told me I want a car like this.”
