INEOS Automotive business update

INEOS Automotive, the latest addition to the marques whose focus is building SUVs, err, really tough 4X4s has been in the reports for some time now and is all set to explore and smother the path less travelled in July 2022 when its maiden SUV, the Grenadier will be officially launched. Assuming to have drawn some design cues from the luxe utility vehicle, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, the Grenadier hails from London and is a plenary example of a bulbous machine which fuses retro and modern elements on the outside and inside. Could this be the last of the gas-guzzling bullet-proof behemoths before electrification’s advent? While we don’t have an answer to that, the company has begun establishing a surefooted after-sales service and dealership networks in its prime markets where the car will be sold.

To embolden the potential buyer’s trust in the brand, the aim is to set up around 200 sales and service touchpoints prior to its launch. These dealers and after-sales service facilitators will provide a solid backing to the company in over 150 countries where 10,000 Bosch car service outlets will play an instrumental role in ensuring that the buyers of this indestructible SUV don’t have to venture over 50km scouting for service outlets. The brand also wants to promise its customers deliveries of spares within 24 hours in cases where these are not available at the place.

After-sales service enforcement in collaboration with Robert Bosch GmbH provides an assurance of good availability and quality. The partnership has already exceeded 3-years and its continuation is likely to mean utmost satisfaction for the owners. Moreover, such vehicles are prone to greater wear and tear and some key components if tampered or damaged, can cost a small fortune. However, with a large supply and ease of access, the cost and availability can both be kept under check.

“We wanted to give customers the choice of how much they wanted to see us, which means providing a full combination of digital and physical options,” said Mark Tennant, Commercial Director at INEOS Automotive. “Customer convenience, parts availability, service quality: we are focusing on getting the basics right, giving customers the buying experience they want and the after sales support they need.”

“If preferred, customers in our main markets will be able to buy their Grenadier online, including organising vehicle finance and handling any part exchanges. But we fully accept that most will want to try before they buy, for which having an extensive network on the ground is essential.”

Such is the desirability quotient and belief in the product that the company has already racked up 75,000 people who are interested in this true-blue 4X4 and will be able to book theirs from the 30th September and the period will extend for two weeks. For others, the bookings will commence from the 14th October.

Digressing heed to the Middle-East markets, the European brand has already appointed its first retail partner, Adamas Motors, which will have exclusive rights to manage UAE and Bahrain. Both the regions will be supplemented by after-sales service from Bosch. In London, the price starts from 48,000 GBP which equates to AED 237,000. However, when launched in the UAE, expect it to cost AED 10,000 to AED 20,000 more depending on the import rates, features and specifications which will be made available here.
