Ineos Grenadier named BMW Motorrad’s International GS Trophy 2022 support vehicle

The Ineos Grenadier has been dubbed as the spiritual successor of the Land Rover Defender and it has been gaining plaudits from all over the world. The old-school SUV’s off-roading prowess will further be tested at this year’s BMW Motorrad’s International GS Trophy 2022.

That’s right, the Ineos Grenadier will act as the support vehicle in a seven-day expedition exclusively open to owners and riders of BMW Motorrad’s GS motorcycle range. Over the course of the 1,300 kilometres event, riders and the 20 Ineos Grenadiers will have to cross the gruelling mountains, valleys, rivers, forests and beaches of Albania. The Grenadiers will be having all the provisions and supplies for the riders.

Avid car enthusiasts who have been following Ineos’ journey to glory will remember that the Grenadier comes with an option of 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol or diesel engine from BMW so this collaboration with BMW Motorrad shall come as no surprise to many.

Mark Tennant, Commercial Director INEOS Automotive, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support our friends at BMW Motorrad with INEOS Grenadiers for this year’s event. The BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy is one of the world’s toughest off-road challenges. A great test for the riders and their machines - and for their Grenadier support vehicles - it’s exactly the sort of thing we built the Grenadier for.”

The series production of the Grenadier is planned to start from July 2022 with price and specification announcement set to come in April 2022 after which customers in Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific and the Middle East will be able to finalise their orders via local dealers or Ineos online.
