Dubai, United Arab Emirates (24 October 2012) – Having taken on the challenge laid down by Red Bull Racing’s Test and Reserve driver Sebastien Buemi, 30 of the UAE’s fastest residents have reached the grand finale of Infiniti’s ‘Unlock the Race’ competition where the man himself will be in attendance. World renowned ex-Formula One driver and now commentator on SkyF1, Martin Brundle, will also be present during the gala event on 31st October.

Over 630 entrants vied for pole position of the competition to record the fastest lap of the virtual Yas Marina circuit on Red Bull Racing’s Playseat simulator. While nobody managed to beat Buemi’s time in the four days of competition at the popular Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) - The Walk, Dubai, some extremely competitive times were recorded.

The lucky 30 fastest competitors will now meet Buemi in person and compete head-to-head with him and the other qualifiers for their chance to secure VIP hosting by Infiniti in the Red Bull Racing suite at the forthcoming Abu Dhabi race. Two runners-up will be invited to join Infiniti on practice and qualifying days while the winner will experience Infiniti’s inspired hospitality on race day itself.

“Infiniti is committed to making its partnership in Formula One benefit our customers and fans through firsthand involvement in the sport, whether that is challenging a driver’s time on a simulator or meeting the driver themselves; owning a car designed by a Formula One Double World champion or being hosted at a race,” said Juergen Schmitz, General Manager, Infiniti in the Middle East. “For the second year running, we’ve hosted a competition which has resonated with the people of the Middle East who share our passion for motorsport at the highest level. We look forward to hosting the ‘Unlock the Race’ qualifiers and Sebastien at the Infiniti IREDI Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road and eventual winners in the Red Bull Racing VIP suite at the race itself.”
