Jaguar reveals sexy 1000hp Gran Turismo roadster concept

Jaguar has been revealing a number of cool concepts under the Gran Turismo nameplate exclusively for video games. The British carmaker has now blessed gamers with this - the Gran Turismo roadster and it looks simply stunning. 

The Gran Turismo concept has been launched in Gran Turismo 7 and has joined the Vision GT Coupé and Vision GT SV. Jaguar says that this roadster will give gamers the feel of an open-top, single seater racer.

The Gran Tursimo roadster is powered by three electric motors which together produce more than 1000 horsepower and 1,200Nm of torque. Thanks to those astronomical numbers, this concept can reach 62mph from a standstill in under two seconds and has a top speed of 200mph. The three monstrous motors have been developed by the company’s Formula E team, Jaguar TCS Racing.

The body looks aerodynamic, has very smooth curves and it even echoes some design cues from the three-time Le Mans-winning D-type. Jaguar says it has used "advanced aluminum alloys," and carbon fiber to build the monocoque design.

Oliver Cattell-Ford, Exterior Designer, Jaguar Advanced Design, said: “As a car designer, being part of the team that has delivered three virtual cars for the Gran Turismo series has been a dream project. Since the reveal of the Vision GT Coupé in 2019 and Vision GT SV in 2020, we wanted to curate the perfect way to present the full line-up of the three cars together when we revealed the Roadster – Gran Turismo 7 is the perfect way to do it.”
