Jaguar XE SV Project 8 impresses at Dubai Motor Show

A wacky concept to begin with, yet one that was highly encouraged by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, the XE SV Project 8 is the most powerful road legal Jaguar to date. With an intimidating presence backed by aggressive bodywork, it exudes the characteristics of an SVO product in every way and form.

Capable of hitting a top speed greater than 320 km/h, the Project 8 has been greatly redesigned with an adjustable front splitter, rear diffuser, and large adjustable rear wing that can be tuned either to reduce drag or maximize downforce. Complimenting the spike in power figures are lower weight figures, created in part by vast 400mm carbon ceramic discs with large six piston calipers up front that save a whopping 18 kilograms over the standard model.

With four-point harnesses, carbon fiber seats, and forged alloy wheels, the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is no softie. Its loud 5.0-liter supercharged V8 has been masterfully tuned to deliver a brag-worthy 592 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. The 8-speed transmission that directs power to the tarmac shifts cogs in just 0.2 seconds and allows the Brit sportscar to hit 100 km/h in a jaw dropping 3.3-seconds.
