Jeep Grand Cherokee 2019 Off Road Test Drive

During our trip to Italy, we also took the Jeep Grand Cherokee off-road and this was my first time driving this car. My perception was "she can basically do everything off-road while I can enjoy the American luxury." Let us see if I was right?
But before we enter into the review per se, let me give you a bit of background of what the Jeep Grand Cherokee means for the industry. While it is the most awarded SUV, with the Trackhawk trim, holds the badge for the most powerful street legal SUV. With 700+ HP you might not want to take this beast off road, but it will nearly give you the best of both worlds.
Now, going back to the tested model, we took the Trailhawk off-road. Which as I have explained on the Compass review is the "most off-road version of all". This trim level has an approach angle of 29.8 degrees that can be easily extended to 36.1 degrees when the lower front fascia is removed. When it comes to the departure angle, the Grand Cherokee has 22.8 degrees combining 274.32 mm of ground clearance. As you can see in the pictures, the Grand Cherokee felt like it was in its natural habitat. In case you don't want to miss any of the surroundings the Grand Cherokee comes with a dual panel sunroof with a motorized sunshade that minimizes glare.
Under the hood, the Grand Cherokee has a 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 engine that produces 271 hp, 324 Nm of torque and it can tow up to 2,041 kilos. All this attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission that will equally deliver a smooth drive on-road and pull all the necessary power while having some fun off-road.
On the exterior, you will find some Trailhawk features such as the signature red tow hooks in the front and rear, 18 inches off-road wheels, Trailhawk and Trail Rated badges and rock rails for added protection.
Interior wise, the first thing you will notice is the quality of the materials. In addition, the 7-inch touch screen with Uconnect where you can control basically everything in the car. It will also allow you to connect your Android or Apple phone since it comes with Android Auto and Apple car play. But this is not the only screen you will find on the Grand Cherokee, since behind the steering wheel you will find another 7 inches full-color, customizable instrument display. This screen will allow you to select different layouts and vehicle information.
When it comes to safety features the Grand Cherokee comes with Forward Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation and Selec- Speed Control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM), Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path detection, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), trailer-sway control (TSC), front-row active head restraints, standard full-length side-curtain airbags, and standard seat-mounted side thorax airbags.
