Jeep Wrangler To Get Makeover

The off-roader's beloved Jeep Wrangler is finally getting a redesign. Chrysler is treading into dangerous territory with this decision as Wrangler has a very loyal following and none of these followers would like to see this aged beast tamed. But, Chrysler also needs to satisfy the criteria of fuel economy. This means lighter body and smaller engine. The body is inspired from Ford who redesigned their F-150 trucks – known for the toughness – using all-aluminum frame. This made the truck lighter yet retained its toughness. Moreover, the new Wrangler will have more gears in the transmission for better efficiency. We expect the new gearbox to be at least having 8 gears (which is a norm) and a smaller turbocharged engine. This will definitely give better on road performance but not quite certain about off-road.
