As the latest addition to the Kia car lineup, the K4 sedan is designed to offer an unparalleled driving experience. It combines advanced technology, superior comfort, and outstanding performance in a stylish package.

Kia has released additional information and specifications for the 2025 K4 compact sedan.

The base models will come equipped with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine, while the GT-Line Turbo trim will have a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four.

The vehicle is expected to be available for purchase in the U.S. in the latter half of 2024.

Kia has recently released initial images of the uniquely designed 2025 K4 compact sedan, which is set to replace the Forte. The brand is now providing additional details about the K4, including its increased size, updated features, and familiar powertrain options. The vehicle is expected to arrive in U.S. dealerships during the latter half of this year and will be available in five different trim levels: LX, LXS, EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo.

Engine and Performance

The Forte's lower trims share the same powertrain as the 147-hp 2.0-liter inline-four and continuously variable automatic transmission. The K4's GT-Line Turbo model features a slightly different version of the turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four found in the previous Forte GT, producing 190 horsepower, which is a decrease of 11 horsepower.

The sedan also switches out the previous six-speed manual and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions for a traditional torque-converter eight-speed automatic, similar to the powertrain change seen in the 2024 Seltos crossover

Exterior Design

According to Kia, the K4 has grown in size, now measuring 185.4 inches in length and 72.8 inches in width. This marks an increase of almost three inches in length and two inches in width from its predecessor, the Forte. While this means more legroom for rear passengers, the trunk size has slightly decreased.

The U.S.-spec model shown in these photos is the GT-Line trim, featuring 18-inch wheels and sporty design elements. Similar to the Forte, the K4 offers a torsion-beam rear suspension for lower models and a multilink rear suspension for the GT. However, Kia has chosen to reserve the more advanced suspension setup for the K4's GT-Line trims.

Technology and Infotainment

The interior of the higher trims features a heavy use of screens, with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen, and a smaller 5.0-inch screen for climate control. The base model also includes standard wireless smartphone mirroring, while optional features such as heated and ventilated front seats, a Harman Kardon audio system, a digital key for unlocking the car with a smartphone, and various driver-assistance technologies are available.

Pricing and Variants

According to Kia, the K4 is set to be available for purchase in the United States during the latter half of this year. It is anticipated that the starting price of the K4 will be slightly higher than the Forte, which has a starting price of $21,145.
