Kia Niro Hybrid Crossover launched in the Middle East

Fans of the Toyota Prius and Hyundai IONIQ rejoice, as alas they have more options to fill their eco-friendly garages around the Middle East with. Unveiled at the International Conference on Future Mobility, the Kia Niro HEV, a dedicated hybrid sports utility vehicle, uses an advanced parallel hybrid system that switches between gasoline and electric power, while simultaneously charging the onboard battery.

Clean, intelligent, and connected, the Kia Niro HEV features a 1.6-liter engine that generates 104 horsepower and 147 Nm of torque, while the electric motor produces 43 horsepower to take total output to an impressive 147 horsepower. The onboard permanent magnet electric motor not only boosts performance but also assists the engine in hybrid mode and recharges the battery during deceleration.

Being a modern crossover that is marketed to an eco-conscious generation, the Kia Niro is equipped with a suite of features including a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Dual-Zone Full Auto Temperature Control, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-Start Assist Control, Parking Assist and Wireless Smartphone Charging.
