Kia Stinger bows out with special Tribute Edition

Posted by Tejas Kokcha on Dec 28, 2022

The Kia Stinger was launched in 2018 and it was a proper statement of intent from the Korean carmaker that it could mix it up with the big boys, the one from Germany.

The Stinger proved to be a landmark product for Kia with its stylish design paving way and defining a striking design language that can be seen in all Kias. It was only a few years ago that Kias used to look boring, not so much now.

Now though its time to bid adieu to the Stinger -Kia is giving the sports sedan a fitting send-off with the "Tribute Edition".

The Tribute Edition is available with Ascot Green or a new Moonscape matte gray paint and has sideview mirrors, Brembo brake calipers, and 19-inch wheels sporting a gloss black finish.

Step inside and you will find bespoke Terracotta brown leather on the sporty seats with the material also seen on the steering wheel, door side trim and door handles. The headrests feature a new wasp-shaped emblem embedded into them.

With the Tribute Edition based on the GT model of the Stinger, it doesn’t come as a surprise that it has the same twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6. No changes have been made to the powertrain meaning the Tribute Edition has 368 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque available with it being capable of hitting 62mph in just 4.6 seconds.

“The Stinger Tribute Edition denotes an important chapter in the story of Kia’s high-performance ethos. Featuring an exclusive color and interior trim never before seen on the sedan, it also serves as a fitting celebration of the Stinger’s contribution to the Kia brand," said Chang Sung Ryu, Senior Vice President and Head of Purchase CX Design Sub-division.

Kia has sold more than 57,000 units of the Stinger but the Tribute Edition is a special teary-eyed goodbye to the car and so its production is limited to just 1,000 units.
