Kia Motors have come a long way in terms of design since acquiring Peter Schreyer – the former designer for Audi. Model after model, both Kia and Hyundai’s designs have never failed to appeal. This is further proven recently by Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) which has awarded Kia with the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) in the transportation category for two vehicles – Kia GT4 Stinger Concept and Kia Soul 2014. Stinger received the Silver honors while Soul received bronze. Kia had received bronze in 2012 for Kia Rio.

IDEA is a globally recognized award for designs in various categories including Automotive and Transportation, Design Strategy, Computer Entertainment, Environments etc. The 2014 event consisted of 2000 entrees from 39 countries with each candidate evaluated on the following merits:

- Innovation

- Benefits to user and client

- Sustainability

- Visual appeal

The GT4 Stinger is Kia’s aggressive take on the modern performance car with enthusiasts kept in mind. It is a 2+2 RWD sports car which is at home on both road and track. It is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine producing an impressive 315 BHP.

The Soul is the highly successful crossover that has won accolades previously from Red Dot and iF for its unique design in the urban passenger vehicle segment and Kia hopes it continues to wow the customers in the future.
