Korean Luxury Brand Genesis Makes Its Way Into Qatar

Genesis, the newest entrant into the Qatari automotive market, is the standalone luxury division of South Korean manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company and one that is set to redefine the segments it operates in. With its sights set on American, German, and Japanese heavyweights, the Korean brand attempts to make an impact by introducing its first model, the Genesis G90 – a full-size luxury car that offers the very best from Korea.

Attracting the who’s who of the automotive world, the Genesis brand comprises of former Bugatti designer Alexander Selipanov who serves as the brand’s Chief Designer; ex-Bentley Design Chief Luc Donckerwolke who heads the brand’s design department; and Manfred Fitzgerald, the Global Head who brings several years of experience as the former Director of Brand and Design at Lamborghini.
Speaking about the process for designing cars that don the Genesis badge, Mr. Fitzgerald said, “With Genesis, we start by understanding those things that create enjoyment in owning a luxury car, and then we bring design, technology and careful engineering together to create something that will excite the senses and that people will desire.”

While the Genesis G90 is the first model to be introduced to the market, the Korean brand is optimistic about upcoming models that will cater to different segments. The driver-focused Genesis G80 will be targeted to the well-heeled enthusiasts, while the upcoming Genesis G70 will capture the attention of entry-level luxury customers.
In Qatar, Genesis is represented by Skyline Automotive, the exclusive distribution partner of the brand in the country.
