Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica revealed as the ultimate road racer

Lamborghini loves to reveal gazillion versions of the Huracan. We have the standard car, the EVO, RWD car, the track-focused STO and now this - the Tecnica. Lambo says that this has been “designed and engineered for the best of both worlds.”

Sitting nicely between the RWD and track focused STO in the ever-increasing Huracán lineup, the Tecnica aims to be a driver's car and be the ultimate racer whether it's on the road or track. Despite being below the STO in the pecking order, the Tecnica gets the racier Huracan’s glorious naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 that produces 631bhp and 416lb ft of torque. The Tecnica can do 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds, a tad 0.2 seconds slower than the STO.

Compared to the Huracán EVO RWD, the Tecnica has 35% more rear downforce and 20% less drag. The Tecnica also gets a new brake cooling management, rear-wheel-steering and torque vectoring and the usual three Lambo driving modes - ‘Strada’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Corsa’.

On the outside the Tecnica has a new front bumper inspired by the Terzo Millennio’s Ypsilon design which creates some sort of air curtain, a new splitter, redesigned V10 cover, a new rear bumper and a fixed rear wing.

Step inside and you will be greeted with a typical Lamborghini inteiro with lots of rocket style buttons, a center screen for passengers and a driver focused interface. In terms of connectivity and other smart features, the Tecnica’s interior has What3Words voice command functionality, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa integration and in-house built HMI.

“The Tecnica ensures that the pilot enjoys the strongest connection to the car and asphalt, with the car’s potential always at his fingertips for ease of use in every driving mode and environment: in an era of virtual experiences it pays homage to technical purity and physical sensation,” said Lamborghini’s head honcho Stephan Winkelmann further confirming the Tecnica’s ambition to be a true driver’s car.

He further said, “ The Tecnica completes the Huracán line-up, sitting perfectly between the RWD and the track-focused STO, flawlessly presenting technology, performance and the Huracán’s V10 aspirated engine in a dramatically evolved design.”
