We’ve got some really juicy supercar news coming from Lamborghini. With the Aventador bidding adieu after more than a decade in production, Lamborghini is ready with its successor - codenamed the LB744.

In a teaser released by the Italian carmaker, the carbon fiber monocoque of the upcoming supercar has been showcased. At the back of the raging bull, high-strength aluminium alloys are employed with two hollow castings for the shock towers and powertrain suspension, which are merged into a single component.

Not only does this help in reducing weight, but it also helps in increasing the rigidity so that the car is able to accommodate the electric motors and the 3.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. As a result, the LB744 will be 25 per cent stiffer than the Aventador.

What’s more,The carbon fibre utilised for the front cone structures will be able to absorb twice as much energy as the metal structure used in the Aventador Ultimae. Lamborghini will be using a patented technology called "Forged Composites" to build the LP477.

Underneath the LB477 will be a newly developed V12 6.5-liter naturally aspirated engine weighing 17 kilograms less than its predecessor. The V12 monster will be paired with three electric motors to deliver a whopping 1,000 horsepower and around 1,075 Nm of torque. Oh, and before we forget to tell you, the LB477 will be the most powerful Lambo to date and have a redline of 9,500 rpm.

The power will be put down to the road via a new dual-clutch, eight-speed automatic transmission. The Huracan’s replacement, set to debut in 2024, will also be getting this transmission.

Keeping the eco-friendly aspect of things in check, the LB477 is set to reduce CO2 emissions by 30 percent with fuel efficiency also being significantly better compared to the Aventador.

Lamborghini says that the plug-in hybrid model will be a “super sports car” and the initial signs show that it certainly won’t disappoint. At the end, it has big shoes left by the Aventador to fill.
