Launch Report: 2013 Peugeot 208

Posted by Hassan Siddiqi on Sep 20, 2012

Peugeot unveiled the 2013 Peugeot 208 yesterday at Sawa Art Gallery in Al Quoz, Dubai.

The new model replaces the popular 207 range and is available for sale in UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC showrooms. Starting price in UAE for Active is AED 55,500 and AED 65,500 for Allure.

The launch event looked more like a clubbing night out, with dancers, disco lights, DJs and a well stocked bar.

The 208 has added new features to it's repertoire, such as the touchscreen, head up instrument panel, small steering wheel, LED lighting, multi-functional steering wheel.

Two key changes were emphasized:

1. 208 is lighter than 207 by 110 kgs, which will result in greater fuel savings

2. 5 cm extra leg room for rear passengers

How effective these changes are, we'll find out in our upcoming test drive. For now, check out pictures from the event and a short launch dance video.
