Lexus Developing A 600+ BHP Coupe

Lexus is on a roll. They are adamant on changing their image of offering “plain, civilized vehicles”. After the success of LFA and the soon-to-be-released RC-F, their new take on performance coupes might revamp their brand image. If rumors are to be believed, then Lexus is well on its way to produce a 600+ BHP vehicle based on the LF-LC concept. Touted as the Lexus SC F, the new SC coupe will have a powerful twin-turbo version of the 5.0 V8 powering the RC F.

The LF-LC Concept was unveiled two years back as a design study for future Lexus models but due to the overwhelming positive response, the board members are convinced to put it into production. As per the rumors, the new SC series will have 3 variants:

- Non-turbo V8 base model producing around 450 BHP

- Mid-size hybrid producing around 500 BHP

- Top-spec twin-turbo V8 producing north of 600 BHP

Expected release date is 2017.
