Making a stop to reckless driving in Sharjah

Police in the eastern region of Sharjah announced that they will continue their extensive campaign spreading awareness about the dangers of speeding, reckless driving and driving without a license.

“Safe Summer” is the title of the campaign, which started in July and will end in August, targets many aspects of safe driving, including the aim to reduce the number of fines issued during the next few months, ask drivers of all ages to be more careful and follow rules, extensive road monitoring through checkpoints in the eastern region of Sharjah, including Khor Fakkan, Kalba and Dibba Al Hisn.

Fines will include drivers not carrying their driving license and documents, tinted windows more than permitted level and making fundamental changes to the vehicle’s mechanics.
A total of 2,351 violations occurred so far this year, with 23 cases referred to the public prosecutor in Sharjah.
