Mansory unveils two door Mercedes AMG G63 pickup

Keeping up with the tradition, aftermarket tuner Mansory has released a plethora of wacky creations around the time of the now-cancelled Geneva Motor Show. This year sees the tuner work on an Audi RS6, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and the most intriguing of which is a short wheelbase Mercedes-AMG G63 pickup truck.

Designed and built with the help of Philipp Plein, the creation is dubbed the ‘Star Trooper Pickup’ and has undergone a series of comprehensive modifications to make it what it is. Whilst details are sparse, it is unclear whether Mansory has resorted to using the platform of an older model (back when Mercedes built a 3-door G-Wagen) or a new one that’s had two of its doors removed and the wheelbase shortened.

More than just its wheelbase, you’ll also notice the passenger cell has been cut and converted into a pickup bed. To match its matte black and grey camouflage, the Star Trooper Pickup gets custom black wheels, new side-exiting exhausts, power-retractable side steps and overhauled front and rear facias.

Powering the wacky Mansory creation is a 4.-liter twin-turbo AMG V8 that has been tuned to deliver 838 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque. Although Mansory claims it will hit 100km/h in just 2.5-seconds, chances are you’ll never have the privilege of seeing one in person since production is limited to just seven examples worldwide.
