Martin Alva And His Striking Car Collection

Posted by Zaran Tarapore on May 4, 2021

An influential name around car communities and enthusiasts in the country, Martin Alva has made a strong impact with his unique cars and enduring love for motorcycles. A through and through petrolhead, Martin tells us more about the cars he owns (and has owned) and what was the driving force behind his automotive passion.

What car do you currently drive?

The two cars that currently fill my garage are a 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS and a 2009 Mercedes-Benz W211 E550 Estate. They are completely different in every way possible, but I love both to bits.

Have you owned any interesting cars in the past?

Oh now that’s quite a list…I’ve had a 1981 Porsche 911 SC, a Porsche 997.1 GT3, a Porsche 991.1 GT3, a Porsche 997.1 Carrera S Manual, a Porsche 991.1 C4S, and a modified Mitsubishi Pajero. You can probably see, I have a very soft corner for Porsches…

What got you into cars?

It would be difficult to pinpoint one exact thing, but if I had to narrow it down, it would probably be my love for engineering.

What is unique about your car? Have you customized it in any way?

I did stick some very large wheels onto my Pajero and boy did that thing turn heads!

Do you have any upgrades or modifications in the pipeline?

Nope, I’m very happy with my cars at the moment. I can demolish track days in the Porsche and cruise around with friends and family in the Benz, it’s the best of both worlds.

Tell me one car you would swap your current car for?

Surprise, surprise it’s another Porsche: the 992 GT3.
