Maserati bid adieu to its much-loved 572bhp 90 degree Twin Turbo V8 engine at the Motor Valley Fest. The iconic powertrain is found in the Trofeo versions of the Levante, Ghibli, and Quattroporte. Maserati announced that it will be discontinuing production of its V8 from late 2023. However, the car’s shall remain on sale in 2024.

Maserati built the V8 in 1959, launching it in the 5000GT. Since then, more 100,000 units have been sold by the Italian carmaker powered by the V8.

Maserati further shed light on its electrification plans at the event. The brand says that it will launch an electric model of each of its current offerings by 2025 and it aims to become an all-electric carmaker by 2030.

To give the V8 cars a proper send-off, latest editions of the Maserati Trofeo, Ghibli 334 Ultima and Levante V8 Ultima, will be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2023.
