Mclaren Burn Rubber To Celebrate 675LT Production Starting

The 675LT is a nod to Mclaren’s past – the LT standing for Long Tail, a special model first seen on the mighty F1. Thankfully, there are more tweaks than just a slightly longer derrière. Weight has been dropped and power and torque have been upped, with the car now producing 666hp and 700nm of torque.

Power is not the only area Mclaren addressed when making the 675LT, aerodynamics were given a thorough going over too. As a result of this tweaking, downforce has increased by 40% over any other model in the Super Series range.

First shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the new Mclaren had a 500-unit order book, which was filled within five months.

The 0-62mph time has been dropped by 0.1sec and the 0-124mph by 0.5sec, though top speed drops by 2mph to just 205mph due to the increased downforce.

Mclaren decided to make a 4k HD promotional video of the 675LT strutting its stuff despite having sold them all.

The UK list price was £259,500 for the lucky 500 that managed to get on the list.
