Mclaren Reveals P1 Performance Stats

Posted by on Oct 22, 2013

Finally, that day has come. Mclaren has officially released the performance stats of their new hypercar – the P1. We already know it has 900 horses under the hood coming from a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 which is mated to an electric motor. All these numbers make one thing obvious – it is fast. But how fast exactly?

Mclaren posted the following numbers after doing an ‘extensive testing and development program’.

-0-100 km/h in 2.8 sec

-0-200 km/h in 6.8 sec

-0-300 km/h in 16.5 sec

In comparison, the Mclaren F1 – the fastest car on the planet for a decade – accelerated from 0-300 in 5.5 seconds longer than the P1. Also, from 100 km/h to stand still is achieved in less than 100 feet.

These are impressive stats considering it took 2 decades to come up with a successor to the famous F1. Watch out LaFerrari.
