Mecca parking lots turn into open air car markets!

A number of residents in Al Sharae’ neighborhood in Mecca, Saudi Arabia complained about turning parking lots of mosques to open used cars showrooms. Those who use the parking lots to sell and buy cars took advantage of large spaces and pre-occupied authorities on pilgrims’ affairs, as reported by Sabq.

Some residents said they were used to vendors’ stalls in front of mosques, in absence of constant scrutiny by the competent authorities. What was unbearable was to find some people honking with their cars, nagging mosques attendees, placing a paper sign addressing their wish to buy the car appended with their phone numbers!

Residents are asking intervention from Traffic Department of the Holy City.
