Terence Tao, an Australian-American mathematician who is believed to be the most intelligent human being in the world, is reported to have an IQ of 230. Quite simply then, it wouldn’t be wrong to refer to the all-new Mercedes Benz E Class as the Terence Tao of the automotive realm.

Following the brand’s newfangled design doctrine, the all-new E Class has traded its outer uniqueness for aesthetic uniformity. The elongated hood, broad shoulders and short overhangs, all point in the direction of the W205 Mercedes-Benz C Class and W222 Mercedes-Benz S Class.

“The E-Class is the core of our brand, and in the past has repeatedly redefined the standards in the executive-class segment. It is without doubt the most intelligent sedan in the executive class,” said Dirk Fetzer, Vice President & Director, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East.

Available in various shades and hues, the cabin of the Mercedes Benz E Class is home to carbon fiber trim, supple leather and a plethora of technology in the AMG variant. In the Exclusive and Avantgarde lines, the former is swapped out for stunning open-pore wood and dashes of silver trim.

Designed in conjunction with Blackberry, the steering wheel features touch-sensitive controls that, like a smartphone, respond precisely to horizontal and vertical swipes. The two stunning 12.3-inch displays, which replace the traditional instrument cluster, are embellished with an ambient lighting system that illuminates the cabin in 64 different colors.

All five models (E200, E250, E300, E400, and E43 AMG) are equipped as standard with a 9-speed automatic transmission that offers rapid gear shifts when pushed to its limits and lower revs when cruising. Additionally, the E Class 2017 is also the only vehicle in its segment to offer a multi-chamber air suspension set-up that delivers excellent comfort and outstanding driving dynamics.

Power figures in the E200 are rated at 184 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque while the E 43 AMG ups the ante to 401 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. Although the former completes a 0 – 100 km/h sprint in an impressive 7.7 seconds, the latter hits the ton in just 4.6 seconds.

Prices for the 2017 Mercedes Benz E200 start at AED 194,000, the E250 at AED 208,000, the E300 at AED 251,000, the E400 at AED 284,000 and the E43 4MATIC at AED 325,000.
