The Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen is one of the most iconic models in the brand’s line-up and has consistently seen an increase in its fan following since its inception in 1979. Although the G-Class hasn’t lost any of its capability over the years, it has seen a shift in its positioning, from capable workhorse to high-end luxury SUV.

German tuner G-Power, who has built its reputation for tuning a plethora of BMW M models, has just pulled the wraps off its newest creation – the G-Power G63 AMG. Aesthetically, it remains true to its roots with the only addition being a set of gorgeous 23-inch Hurricane RR forged alloy wheels.

Under the hood, the German tuner has carried out a lot more alterations, resulting in the 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo power plant churning out 645 horsepower and a mindboggling 900 Nm of torque. To put into perspective, that’s 74 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque more than the car that it is based on.

The additional boost in power, sees the G63 AMG dispatch a 0-100 km/h run in just 5.3 seconds. Extremely impressive, considering the vehicle weighs nearly 3 tons. Prices for the G Power kits start at AED 28,000 and soar up to AED 70,000.
