Mercedes C63 AMG And C63 AMG S

The C63 is an icon in Mercedes’s range; it blends the practicality of a small sedan with the performance to rival fully blown sports cars. Click here for C63 AMG Coupe's specs and prices.

This latest iteration of the C63 comes in two states of tune; the C63 S, which produces 510hp and 700nm from its 4.0 twin-turbo V8 and the standard C63, which produces 476hp and 650nm.

The engine is the defining aspect of any AMG car and though it’s sad to see the 6.2 V8 of its predecessor has finally been dropped, all is not lost, as the new 4.0 ‘Hot-V’ engine is a masterpiece. The turbochargers are inside the cylinder banks as this gives better response and perhaps just as importantly, the magnificent V8 sound has been retained which is often a bugbear of forced-induction engines.

Elsewhere, AMG ‘RIDE CONTROL’ suspension has been added, giving the car three-stage damper adjustment, locking differentials (mechanical on C63, electronic on C63 S) and ceramic composite brakes have been introduced for the ‘S’ model.

The styling has been subtly improved with trapezoidal quad exhaust pipes, sportier alloy wheels and different bumpers & grilles as well as a few minor interior tweaks.
