Mercedes to launch most expensive sedan

Mercedes’ pursuit for ultimate brand of luxury is relentless. Even though it shut down its sister company Maybach after reporting huge losses, that didn’t stop the Germans from competing against the British giants – Rolls Royce and Bentley – in the uber-luxury segment. As per reports from Bloomberg, Mercedes-Benz is building the most expensive sedan in the world – the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman – and it will cost a whopping million dollars.

What do you get in return for spending million bucks? Well, there is the usual premium leather, wood trimmings and lavish rugs. Moreover, the Pullman will feature lounge-styled seating apart from the body armor – a must have feature for all the elites. Such luxury also must show in the overall size of the car and Mercedes does agree with that fact as the Pullman is 21 feet long. In comparison, a Rolls Royce Phantom – the statement of automotive luxury – is 1.5 feet shorter even with the extended wheelbase and costs half as much.

Coming to the engine options, well, it is expected that Merc will include their biggest and baddest V12s in the Pullman to match the high standards of the car but will the engines be further tuned or simply added with the current configurations; that question will be answered next year when this car hits the showrooms.
