Mini Introduces New Driver Assist Technologies

Posted by on Oct 20, 2013

Mini has followed the footsteps of other car manufacturers and introduced their automated vehicle technology to keep the driver connected better to the car. Two technologies are introduced.

-Heads up display

-City braking

Heads up display is the same as the parent company BMW uses in its cars while the automated braking system is – as the name suggests – a collision detection system. It works with a camera mounted in the front detecting objects along the way as well as detecting street signs. It also is used for the adaptive cruise control and auto dimming headlights. The rear camera helps in giving parking assistance to the driver. All in all, these technologies aren’t new per se but it’s good to see them in a car that’s under AED 150,000.
