More Images of Toyota Land Cruiser J300 Leaked Online

The Toyota Land Cruiser is an extremely popular SUV in the Middle East. In fact, it is one that does not require any introduction, having built its loyal fan base with citizens, residents, and even off-road fleets all over the region. Having said that, the future of the Land Cruiser had been in question over the past few years, with many markets moving away from large gas-guzzling SUVs to smaller, more compact offerings. However, all doubt has been put to rest as even more images of the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser J300 have surfaced online.

What is clear from the images is that the all-new model has landed at a shipping port, meaning it shouldn’t be long before Toyota makes an official announcement about the much-anticipated model. The design is quite evolutionary in fashion, but with an all-new fascia, it is bound to be controversial with many comparing the large grille and U-shaped intake to the recently launched Cadillac Escalade. Elsewhere along the bodywork, the soft curves have been replaced with sharper lines and the wheel arches and fenders have both been redesigned. In fact, some keen-eyed enthusiasts have also pointed out how similar the window line and side profile of the all-new Land Cruiser is to the Infiniti QX80.

On the inside, it’s embarrassing to see the Land Cruiser still come with an analog/digital combination instrument cluster, whilst far more affordable rivals have long moved to a fully digital layout. There’s also a new steering wheel and center console but because of the brand’s affinity to large buttons, it doesn’t look very modern or high-tech. The drive mode selector seems to have been added as a rotary knob and is placed in close proximity to the transfer case selector with 4 High and 4 Low modes.

Although not much is known about the powertrain as yet, speculation points us towards a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, as well a hybrid version with the same engine. Some markets could also receive a 3.3-liter V6 unit.

Stay tuned for more as we find out…
