New 1MW Concept Is Electric!

The Top Marques Motor Show in Monaco had many exciting vehicles; from motorcycles to bulletproof SUV’s and everything in between. One stand out offering though was from a Finnish company called Toroidion. Their 1MW concept car is significantly different than what we’ve seen from electric offerings so far. For a start, it has 1341hp which means it sits in the ‘megacar’ class – this refers to cars that have a kilowatt (1340hp) or more of power. This phenomenal output ensures it’s above cars such as the Mclaren P1, LaFerrari or Porsche 918 (Prices of 918) in terms of power.

Its powertrain is being kept under wraps until tests have been finished, but the company has stated its power will be scalable, meaning different output options will be available. They also state that the battery will be as easily replaced in the pit lane as it is in the home garage suggesting a very simple setup.

Elsewhere, its looks are radical even for a concept car. The front is extremely low and sloped with ‘bug-eye’ headlights either side of its curved front. The side profile and rear are simplistic, the only real detail being the wing mirrors at the top of the side windows.
