New Bentley Continental GT Speed launched

Posted by Mansoor A. Bukhari on Apr 6, 2016

The Bentley Continental GT is been around for quite a while and has been the choice of transportation for many celebrities especially footballers from the United Kingdom. And every year, Bentley tries to make some minute changes in their fleet so that the new model year is justified. After all, no one would like to pay that huge amount of money for the same vehicle that was sold the previous year. However, once in a while, Bentley does add a few extra digits to the performance spec and that gets everyone in the industry excited.

This time we are talking about the Bentley’s updated Continental GT Speed. Yes, that exists as well in case you did not know. The new Continental GT Speed is said to become the fastest production car ever produced by Bentley. If speculations are correct, the new GT Speed is set to have a top speed of 206 miles per hour, which is about 330 kilometers per hour. Again, that is not significant improvement but it is improvement nonetheless. The GT Speed is again powered by the 6.0 liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine that produces 633 BHP and 620 lb-ft of torque. That’s an extra 7 BHP and 15 lb-ft of torque. This helps the cruise ship to propel from 0-60 mph in a measly 3.9 seconds.

There are more updates with the GT Speed. A new Black Edition joins the GT Speed fleet. The Black Edition will be available in both coupe and convertible variants of the Continental. The special edition includes 21” black-finish alloys and a high-gloss black finish instead of chrome trim on the exterior. This look continues inside as well with use of carbon fiber. There is no information on the availability of the GT Speed. The car may come as 2016 or a 2017 model as Bentley has started taking orders and deliveries will be done by summers.
