Posted by Karishma Bhalla on Sep 18, 2012

This two-seater electric concept will be powered by a magneto-electric motor which delivers an output of 60 bhp and 135 Nm of torque at a top speed of 130km/h, with its lithium-ion battery having a capacity of 17.6 kWh.

Forstar has its flashy interior with seats trimmed in white leather with white pipping while doors are lined in perforated leather paneling.

A unique key feature of this smart-looking Alubeam Rouge colour exterior SUC is the accomodated smartphone in a holder at the top of the windscreen, allowing the driver to have immediate access to the road behind through an integrated video camera.

Cargo space, increased ground clearance and a panaromic roof are other features of this not quite as small SUC.

This is part of a broader expansion of Smart with Daimler planning to launch an electric-powered bicycle, e-scooter and a four seated car as well.

According to Automative Business Review Daimler aims to sell 10,000 Forstars SUCs per year or 10% of all Smart sales.

A next generation SUC to take charge of city roads!
