Next-gen Lexus supercar to debut by 2030, will be spiritual successor to the LFA

Ever since Lexus revealed the LFA, we’ve been asking the Japanese carmaker the question - when will you build its successor? Well now, our prayers have been answered as Lexus has revealed images of its next-gen supercar which will be the spiritual successor to the coveted and famous LFA.

The supercar will be one of the next generation electric cars Lexus is set to reveal by 2030. While previewing the supercar, Lexus said that it is"a battery-EV sports car which inherits the driving taste, or the 'secret sauce', of the performance cultivated via the development of the LFA."

As far as performance is concerned, Lexus has remained coy about it but stated that it is targeting  a 0-62mph time in "the low two-second range" while also offering a mind blowing range of 435 miles (700km).

Despite being the spiritual successor to the LFA, this new supercar concept showcases a new design language and has striking looks, an aerodynamic package, a low stance and low profile tyres. Lexus' chief branding officer, Koji Sato says that this new supercar will symbolise “the future of the brand".

By 2030, Lexus will roll out a host of new electric cars and in 2035, the carmaker will completely end production of ICE cars.
