Nissan Altima 2017 in detail

Nissan held an exclusive event for the media today for the launch of the 2017 Nissan Altima. This is not a completely new Altima but a very significant facelift which makes it look more like the Maxima. “We are excited to launch the 2017 Nissan Altima in the Middle East, which compliments Nissan’s range of innovative, exciting cars and represents Nissan’s vision for the design of the modern passenger car,” said Samir Cherfian, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East.  “The Altima is a popular car in the region and globally, and the new design elements add to the overall appeal of its reliability and features.”

The front end of the 2017 Altima offers new fascia, bumper, fenders, hood, headlights and fog lights. Two key elements are the redesigned V-Motion grille and boomerang-shaped headlights, similar to those found on the Maxima. The reshaped headlight units incorporate halogen high beam and projector low beam lights in addition to the LED projector low beam lights and LED DRLs. The rear of the Altima is also new as well.

Along with the new look, the CVT gearbox has also received some improvement. Moreover, the drag coefficient has also been improved – to 0.26 Cd from the previous 0.29 Cd*. All these little changes results in the improvement of fuel economy – 7.5 l/100km. The engine specifications remain the same i.e. 2.5 liter and 3.5 liter engine options.Coming to the interior, there is a new ‘Gliding Wing’ design. The central display is available in 5.0” or 7.0”. Safety options include Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Forward Emergency Braking and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The new Altima will be released in the market very soon.
