Nissan Kicks its way into the Middle East

Posted by Zaran Tarapore on Mar 7, 2017

Combining characteristics of the trendy yet comical Juke and the practical Tiida Hatchback, Nissan has introduced the all-new Kicks to the Middle East market. Launched in Dubai’s Alserkal Avenue, the Kicks is a compact crossover that was introduced in Brazil and competes with the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Chevrolet Trax.

Samir Cherfan, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East said: “The all-new Nissan Kicks was developed with the modern urban commuter in mind, with the aim of delivering the most innovative, stylish and functional crossover in its class. These commuters will appreciate the car’s ability to deal with the rough and tumble of the urban jungle courtesy of its advanced chassis control technology.”

Aesthetically, the Kicks features Nissan’s signature design language with a V-motion grille, boomerang head-and-taillights, and a floating coupé-esque roofline. The vehicle’s commanding driving position is further heightened with a generous 200mm ground clearance and high eye point.

The spacious interior is also unmistakably Nissan, with a “gliding wing” silhouette stretching the width of the dashboard. The newcomer combines a robust exterior and elevated seating position for agile performance and maneuverability.

Equipped with a peppy 1.6-liter engine, the Kicks produces 118 horsepower and 149 Nm of torque, power that it puts to the front wheels through a CVT transmission. Technology onboard is plenty with an Around View Monitor, Moving Object Detection system, Bluetooth telephony, Active Trace Control, Active Ride Control, and Active Engine Braking.

Priced from AED 63,000 to AED 74,500, the Kicks is set to take segment rivals head on.
