Nissan is really proud of the Navara. After all, the pickup has been in the market for 80 years and hence it invited the media to Barcelona for the launch of the new model. Let’s have a look at it in detail.

The all-new Nissan Navara comes with a 2.5 liter engine that comes in diesel and petrol variants. The pickup is a leader in the 2.5 – 2.7 liter segment as the engine produces 168 BHP and 403 Nm of torque. It is also a class leader by providing a seven-speed automatic transmission – something which is not usually associated with pickups. Moreover, it also comes with 6 speed manual transmission – a first for any pickup from Japan. The pickup retains the offroading prowess and switches between 2WD and 4WD via a rotary switch.

The pickup is still a boxed frame but the looks have been heavily improved to attract the general consumers. With this pickup, Nissan aims to target the non-commercial market like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux. This means softer suspension for better ride quality and comfort. Other family-friendly features include LED headlamps, electric folding side mirrors, roof rails, side steps, 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior accents, leather steering wheel, 5-inch central infotainment screen with rear-view reverse camera, Bluetooth connectivity, parking sensors, dual zone air-conditioning, smart key entry with push-button starter, cruise control and audio switch controls on the steering wheel. Moreover, the pickup includes ABS, traction control, limited slip differential, hill start assist and hill decent assist.

“In our market,” continued Cherfan, “we face unique challenges and any vehicle that is used for work as well as play needs to be built with integrity if it’s to last. The all-new pick-up Navara takes that philosophy and shows what is possible when Nissan brings its wealth of experience in building a tough and reliable, yet stylish and comfortable vehicle.”
