Nissan Nismo GTR 2017 unveiled

Posted by Mansoor A. Bukhari on May 29, 2016

This did not take time. The Godzilla of automobiles – the Nissan GTR recently received the facelift for the 2017 model. And, the performance arm of the Japanese brand – NISMO – did not waste any time in bringing out the tuned package for 2017 edition. And, this new version is still as crazy as NISMO can be with all that attention to detail. The 2017 NISMO GTR is basically 2017 Nissan GTR with better aerodynamics and track focused suspension.

Coming to the details, the entire front fascia of the NISMO GTR is made out of carbon fibre. This includes the white painted sections as well. The carbon fibre used is hand-laid and is the most expensive kind for optimal performance. The engine of the new GTR is the same as before – producing about 600 BHP from that turbocharged V6. There is a minor difference in power. The American version gets full 600 BHP while the European gets 592 BHP. So, this is a point to keep in mind people of the GCC. Though, I am sure the dealers here will market the 600 BHP version as no one wants the measely underpowered car.

The fiddling with the suspension has worked as the new GTR – as per the manufacturer claims – completes the slalom course faster by two percent. The consumers can have that specially tuned chassis via track pack version of the regular GTR. However, that mod won’t include the aerodynamic changes by NISMO or the special interior lathed with Alcantara. The final prices are yet to be confirmed but the company is taking orders from next week with deliveries scheduled from December onwards.
