Nissan reveals the all new Kicks

Posted by Mansoor A. Bukhari on May 10, 2016

Nissan has managed to produce another crossover. Yes, after the Juke, X-Trail, Murano and Pathfinder, say hello to the brand new Nissan Kicks. The Kicks is a compact crossover built for to please the youth of today. The car was presented as a concept at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show, so it is quite obvious the target market is South America for now. Moreover, the vehicle will be produced at Nissan’s plant in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. However, don’t be displeased, Nissan said the Kicks will be available in more than 80 countries. So, we can assume that the car will land in the Middle East as well – sooner or later.

Coming to the car itself, the Nissan Kicks looks pretty much the same as the concept car. This is one of those few miracles in the automotive industry where the production model looks same like the concept. The exterior design looks like a proper Nissan with details like the V Motion grille, boomerang styled headlamps and taillamps and ofcourse the ‘floating’ roofline. The interior is quite plain and simplistic with a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a rather average sized infotainment screen. The cool features in this car include 360 degree camera and detection of moving objects – which according to Nissan is a first in the segment.

Keno Kato – Nissan’s Vice President of Product Planning said: “With Kicks, we have developed a compact crossover in the best Nissan tradition, and thanks to the unmatched experience, we have in creating vehicles to meet the needs of car-buyers around the world. Kicks will offer best-in-class design, convenience and technological innovation. And, it will demonstrate Nissan’s commitment to Nissan Intelligent Mobility. Kicks is a car to confidently take on the city.”
