Motorists in Abu Dhabi will have to pay for public parking from 1st July 2020 as announced by the Integrated Transport Center (ITC). In a statement issued, the ITC stated that tariffs for public parking in the emirate will resume from 8 am on Wednesday, 1st July.

Although parking fees had been suspended in the emirate for the past three months, as a means of financial support to residents during the coronavirus outbreak, tariffs are set to resume. The ITC encourages motorists to pay parking tariffs using the Mawaqif mobile service, which is available through the Darb application or via SMS on 3009.

For those who wish to pay using cash or rechargeable cards, the ITC has said that all payment machines will be sterilized daily to ensure the safety of those who use it. In the emirate of Abu Dhabi, there are two kinds of public parking spaces: Premium parking in the blue-and-white bays charged at AED 3 per hour and Standard parking in the blue-and-black bays charged at AED 2 per hour.
