The Peugeot 308 was crowned Women’s Car of the Year 2022 by 56 journalists coming from 40 countries across 5 continents. Just like every year, the Women’s Car of the Year winner was announced on International Women’s Day as it is “a very special date because it gives women a voice and because of the link in many countries between the automobile and personal autonomy.”

The panel of jury chose from 65 cars and announced the winners of 6 categories on 14 February where the 308 became the Urban Model. Then on 15 February, the 308 won a “closer than ever” poll and became the Women’s Car of the Year.

The Kia Sportage was crowned the Family SUV, Ford Mustang Mach-E was named the winner of the Large Car category,  BMW iX won the Large SUV, Audi e-Tron GT and Jeep Wrangler 4xe were crowned Performance Car and Pure 4X4 & Pick Up respectively.

Linda Jackson, CEO of the PEUGEOT brand, said: “I am very proud of the WWCOTY award given to the new PEUGEOT 308, and I congratulate all the PEUGEOT teams for this success. The new 308 won for all its qualities, but also because it covers a large part of the uses of the millions of potential users in the countries represented by the Women’s World Car of the Year jurors. Whatever their needs, habits, means and aspirations, they can find in the 308

range the vehicle that suits them: attractive, efficient, functional and accessible.”
